Elegant Downtown Micro Wedding

If I’m being honest, I teared up while putting this blog together. Kassy and Nick, like a lot of couples, had their original wedding plans derailed by Covid. They were planning a larger wedding at the Brown Palace in Denver, but ended up back in North Dakota with a small group of family and friends. Even if it wasn’t what they initially imagined, it could not have been more perfect. It was intimate, elegant, emotional, and Harry Potter themed (which I particularly enjoyed!) The small ceremony took place on UND’s campus, in their hometown of Grand Forks, ND. The fall colors were amazing and it was such a gorgeous day! We spent the evening downtown with Nick’s dad’s classic car exploring the streets before joining everyone at the reception at Sky’s Fine Dining. It was one of the most romantic evenings, and I won’t be forgetting it anytime soon.

Congrats again Mr. & Mrs. Sattler!

Dreamy Fall Colorado Wedding at the Lodge at Breckenridge

I feel like every wedding ends up being my favorite, which I guess is a good problem to have. This one is definitely included on my long list of favorites! Jake and Colleen are such a chill couple, and they made the most of every minute of their day. Their perfect fall wedding took place in Breckenridge, Colorado just as the leaves were peaking. If that’s not a photographer’s dream, I don’t know what is. Their entire wedding is so memorable to me. I can still picture watching Jake’s face change as he saw Colleen for the first time walking down the aisle during their traditional Catholic ceremony. Shortly after, Jake, Colleen and I wandered through the mountains above town, taking our time with photos and soaking in the view. Their meal at the Lodge is one I still talk about (hello elk medallions!) and their all-night dance party was one for the books. I won’t be forgetting this lovely, high-energy wedding day anytime soon!

Congrats again Mr. & Mrs. Lutovsky!

Winter Wonderland Elopement at Sapphire Point

This gorgeous elopement took place in January 2020, just before the world ended. It was my first wedding of 2020, and the last one for a while. Zach and Caitlin planned their winter elopement with simplicity and close friends in mind. We met up at Sapphire Point near Dillon, Colorado in the morning in order to do their first look out on the trail. It was a cold and snowing lightly when Zach and I headed out. I couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful morning for their first look, even though it was very chilly. We even got some sunshine with the snow flurries! Caitlin planned ahead for the weather with a cute fur wrap, layers under her dress and hiking boots, of course! I loved every second of their little elopement. It was so peaceful and perfect. We took our time hiking around after their first look until it was time to meet up with their friends for the ceremony. The overlook where they said their vows is to die for, and I recommend checking it out if you’re in the area. It’s a nice spot to take visitors since it’s easy to access, and the overlook is just a brief walk for those who aren’t used to hiking. After vows, we all celebrated with ice-cold Coors and more photos. I think the first year of marriage for this extremely sweet couple was memorable for many reasons! Congrats again Mr. & Mrs. Allen!

Billie+Wyatt {Belle Fourche, SD} Colorado Elopement & Wedding Photographer

Re-living Billie+Wyatt’s wedding is so fun! These two compliment each other so well and are just awesome to be around. They got married on September 1st, 2019 (yeah I know I need to blog faster) at Besler’s Cadillac Ranch in Belle Fourche, South Dakota. This venue is so rustic and charming! Billie completely nailed the indoor decor, too. Wyatt’s a farmer and Billie is a rodeo queen when she’s not teaching, so it was a pretty perfect theme. They had everything a western-chic wedding needs: horses (check) cowboy hats (check) cowboy boots (check) and two dresses (double check). The outdoor ceremony space was accented by an arch decorated with flowers by Billie’s mom and a hand-made cross from Wyatt. The ceremony was sweet with a few laughs, and the reception was full party-mode and featured Billie’s outfit change. I just LOOOOVED Bill’s bridal style. I had such a good time with everyone! Bill’s sister is my sister-in-law and we spent a lot of time together at their parent’s farm, so this wedding was extra special to me. Congrats again Billie+Wyatt! I hope to see you guys again soon.
